GamCare ExTra: Expert Training online
Customer service staff in the betting and gaming industry are the front line when it comes to identifying players who may be at risk. GamCare, has been training and advising operators on player protection for a number of years now, but we know how difficult it can be to find the time to get these messages across, both to new and existing staff.
That’s why GamCare have developed an e-learning package specifically for the gambling industry – though it can also be adapted and used by others (regulators, health professionals, counsellors) who need to understand and recognise the signs of problem gambling, and know how and when to help.
GamCare ExTra has been designed using GamCare's 14 years of experience working with problem gamblers and allows people to learn at their own pace using realistic, work-based scenarios that bring the issues to life. Staff are able to complete their training whenever and wherever, so there is no need for lost days or expenses for travel to training venues.
Users have the opportunity to try out different responses, and then learn from experience, as well as building on their knowledge with the integrated expert audio guide. The package also allows managers to monitor and assess progress, and on completion the trainee is awarded a personal GamCare Certificate of Achievement in Social Responsibility.
This training has been developed to raise awareness of problem gambling with all levels of staff, to empower them in their specific job roles and to comply with current regulations.
